Course Summary

2020 National Electrical Code Chapters Five through Eight

The main goal of this course is to work with students to improve their knowledge of the some of the more significant changes that have taken place in the National Electrical Code over the last few code cycles. We will use the PowerPoint from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors titled “Analysis of Changes, NEC-2020” as a base for this class. We will also primarily use the 2020 NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) throughout the class as we apply the coursework to everyday applications. We will also discuss how the National Electrical Code has changed over the last few cycles as well as the changes in the 2020 code cycle. Through our past class offerings we have found that there are some license holders that are either not fully aware of some of the changes that have taken place in past code cycles or simply just do not fully understand how they would apply to their everyday work. As such, even though the focus of the class will be the changes that have taken place in the 2020 National Electrical Code cycle, we will also cover major changes that have taken place in past cycles and that are still in existence after the issuance of the 2020 National Electrical Code edition. Throughout the classroom session we quiz the attendees to determine comprehension of the subject matter. As such, sometimes we well dwell on various parts of the longer than other parts based upon the needs of each individual class.
