In my experience, it is rare to find Automation / Controls / IT Engineers who can: “Do It All.” I am that Engineer with 17 years controls & project management experience.
There has been much that I did not know and still do not, but there is nothing that I cannot quickly learn and most importantly: Successfully Implement.

ï Completely modernized controls department within my first year and half.
o Obtained Professional Engineering license for various customer requirements and to enhance customer perception.
o Implemented becoming an UL508a fully self-certifying panel shop.
o Improved controls standards to move up from Allen-Bradley SLC processors and classic panelviews to more modern Logix and Panelview Plus platforms and distributed architectures using DeviceNet and Ethernet I/O.
o Created a standard library of AutoCAD schematic symbols and menus as well as PLC re-useable code.
ï Designed and fully implemented controls and programming of a custom full door routing machining center. All six faces of a door can be routed simultaneously. Machining center part of a five machine product line which reduced labor from 23 personnel down to only three.
o Utilized 24 Axis (8-XYZ capable router modules) of Allen-Bradley Kinetix 6000 Motion on a Control Logix platform.
o Programmed to fully implement industry standard CNC code but fully realized through ladder logic and integrated coordinated motion commands.
o Complete programming of fully database driven production utilizing FactoryTalk Transaction Manager & Plant Metrics utilizing SQL Server 2005.
ï Simulated Divided Light (SDL) aluminum bar processing machine. Notched and end coped 16 foot aluminum bars down to the desired size for SDL grids for windows and door glass.
o Minimized scrap bar remnants by integrating commercially available optimization software CutLogix 1D.
o Extensive customization of RS View SE using VBA to directly import daily batch production files, place into a spreadsheet style grid, and interface to the optimization software to reorder the batch to minimize scrap.

ï Modernized control system on six protector heat coil machine while also doubling capacity for an annualized savings of $1.5 million.
ï Designed numerous control systems for diverse range of applications in a 2.4 million square feet (54 acres "under roof") campus.
ï Managed machine purchases and installation projects, design and implement production machinery improvements, and assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting.

ï Designed, developed and implemented control system for a $30 million expansion of Macon, MO plant. System completely controlled product flow, and monitored the various conveyors, ovens, freezers, and packaging equipment.
ï Modernized original relay logic control system for Amerio® plate freezers in the Marshall, MO plant. Upgrading the antiquated control system saved $2 million in capital that would have been needed for replacement equipment.
ï Upgraded ammonia refrigeration control systems in Russellville, AR and Crozet, VA plants.
ï Functioned as lead corporate control system engineer to 7 plants in 4 states. Gained the respect and developed cooperative relationships with every level of employee from operators through plant managers.
