2020 Mandatory - Fair Housing and Cultural Diversity

My goal for the development of the course is to elevate the learning of Louisiana real estate licensees as it pertains to fair housing law and cultural diversity and inclusion. Abby Mack

Abbey Mack is the Managing Attorney for Crescent Title’s Destrehan office. She has over 25 years of real estate law experience and a reputation for excellence. She is a partner in the law firm of Bergeron, Douglass, Frosch and Mack. She has closed over 8,000 residential real estate transactions. She is licensed to practice law before the Federal Courts in the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. Abbey has extensive experience in handling successions, donations, wills, foreclosures, and formation of LLCs and Corporations, subjects on which she frequently teaches. Abbey is an expert on Louisiana residential real estate contracts, having served on the forms committee that drafted the current document.

Brent Laliberte

Brent J. Laliberte graduated from UNO in 1987 with B.S. in Finance. He graduated from Loyola University School of Law is 1993 with a J.D. in Civil Law. He was admitted to the bar in October 1993. In the 23 years that he has been practicing law he has handled over 15,000 closings and has examined in excess of 40,000 titles. He is a Past President and former Board Member of the Louisiana Land Title Association (LLTA), and he is the Founder, President and Board Member of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Title Attorneys (NOMATA). In addition to his law degree, Brent has a title insurance license, a real estate broker’s license and is certified by LREC to teach CE classes. He teaches hundreds of hours of live CE instruction each year, both on behalf of Bayou Title, Inc. and as a frequent guest instructor for many of the real estate boards around the state. Brent was the recipient of the 2014 LLTA "Title Person of the Year" award, and he is one of only two people in the State of Louisiana, and one of only 51 people nationwide, to hold the prestigious ALTA National Title Professional (NTP) designation.

Danny Douglass

Daniel M. Douglass joined Crescent Title owner Robert J. Bergeron as a Partner in the law firm of Bergeron, Douglass, Frosch & Mack in November 2004. He is the Managing Attorney of Crescent Title's Metairie office. With over 20 years of practicing law, Danny has managed the closings of over 10,000 real estate transactions. Danny has additional experience in litigating general civil matters in the areas of Real Estate, Creditor's Rights, Negotiable Instruments, Security Devices, Contracts, Leases and the Uniform Commercial Code. He is an expert in wills and successions and has extensive experience in foreclosure litigation.

Danny lectures frequently to investors and home buyers on the legal aspects of buying and selling property. He is also certified to provide state-mandated continuing education courses and teaches hundreds of real estate agents annually.

Dr. Danette O'Neal

Dr. Danette O’Neal, Professor, Author-LEED educator, HGTV alumna, entrepreneur, and trainer is the Broker/Owner of Danette O’Neal Realtors (DOR) with offices in the Greater New Orleans and Atlanta Metro areas. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, she holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration, a Masters in Public Administration both from Walden University, and a M.A. in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University. O'Neal is a Professor and SME for Strayer and Realtor Universities in the Schools of Business, Real Estate, and Public Administration. She is currently serving as the LA State Director of Education for the Women Council of Realtors (WCR), V-Chair of Conventions and Meetings and Sustainability Committees for the National Association of Realtors; and on the Boards for Changing a Generation Ministries. She volunteers as an interpreter for the deaf in the Full Gospel Baptist Church International Hearing Impaired Ministry. Dr. O’Neal specializes in residential and commercial sales, property management and spiritual architecture. With more than 29 years in real estate, she regularly lends her expertise to nonprofit organizations to expand their missions by lecturing on financial fitness, entrepreneurial training, and consulting for organizational leadership and sustainability. Her focus is on supporting small business growth through executive and business coaching, strategic planning and the facilitation of a range of leadership development programs.

Jason Hernandez

Jason Hernandez joined Crescent Title owner Robert J. Bergeron as a Partner in the law firm of Bergeron, Douglass, Frosch & Mack in 2008. He is the Managing Attorney of Crescent Title's Lakeview office. Crescent Title was the first real estate title company to return to Lakeview after Hurricane Katrina. As one of the first real estate attorneys to return to the area, Jason has developed extensive expertise in both Road Home issues and re-subdivisions.

Kirk J Frosch joined Crescent Title owner Robert J. Bergeron as a Partner in the law firm of Bergeron, Douglass, Frosch & Mack in November 2005. He is the Managing Attorney of Crescent Title's Mandeville office. With over 20 years of practicing law, Kirk has specialized in real estate and title law for the past several years, focusing almost exclusively on St. Tammany Parish. Robert Bergeron is the principal in the law firm of Bergeron, Douglass, Frosch and Mack and owner of Crescent Title LLC, which was established in March 2003. He is the Managing Attorney of Crescent Title's Uptown office. With over 20 years of experience in real estate law, Bob manages and conducts over 1800 commercial and residential real estate transactions a year. He also works with investors in forming business entities and creating condominium regimes. Throughout the metropolitan New Orleans area, he is considered the authority in the field of 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges.

Bob is recognized throughout the area as an expert on Louisiana real estate law. He lectures frequently to investors and home buyers on the legal aspects of buying and selling property. Tranell Barton

Ms. Barton is a native New Orleanian who grew up in a household of educators from principals to paraprofessionals. Her family tree is rooted in education. After graduating from St.Mary's Academy (91), she begin a journey in Mass Communications at Grambling State University. She graduated in 1995 pursuing the goal of a successful career in broadcasting. She worked at WPXL-TV Channel 49 for four years as a General Manager and Master Control Supervisor for the Flinn Broadcasting Division. After four years of broadcasting, she transition into a world of politics in 2000 joining the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of REALTORS as a legislative aide. She serve in this capacity for over fifteen plus years. Her accomplishments range from implementing a training program certifying REALTORS in Affordable Housing Initiative to developing advocacy campaigns for various community outreach programs. To improve her business acumen, she completed her MBA with the University of Phoenix in 2007. Her MBA afforded her the opportunity to become an adjunct instructor with a ITT Technical Institute in 2014. After two years of teaching Business Administration and General Education courses, she grew a profound interest with higher education and the ability to help adult learners achieve their professional goals. She joined Delgado Community College Adult Education Department in April 2019 as an Adjunct Instructor teaching basic adult and general education courses. Her role as an educator is to open the door to a unforgettable learning experience that cultivates an innovative blended curriculum. She recognizes that interconnectedness is important in every learning experience. Her philosophy is to connect an individual's thinking process on achieving all of their educational goals. In 2016, she enrolled at Capella University in the doctoral program with a focus on Educational Leadership and Management.
