2020 Mandatory - Fair Housing and Cultural Diversity

The 2020 Mandatory Course – Fair Housing and Cultural Diversity is designed to elevate the learning of Louisiana real estate licensees as it pertains to fair housing law and cultural diversity and inclusion. This engaging multimedia course presentation begins by laying the foundation for what we should already know about federally protected classes, as well as Louisiana state and federal laws pertaining to fair housing. The course will dive deeply into two very often-misunderstood fair housing concepts, namely disparate impact and emotional support and service animals. The course employs an in-depth case study, containing real examples to illustrate how these laws affect real estate property management. A video, game, and activity will deliver some fun learning about cultural diversity and bias in real estate as it pertains to truly learning to be real estate professionals in every aspect of professional life, including learning and implementing the National Association of REALTORS ® Equal Professional Services Model. The end of the course material provides a wealth of valuable resources to further learn about fair housing law and cultural diversity and inclusion.
