Course Summary

2020 Mandatory - Fair Housing and Cultural Diversity

2020 Mandatory Course Topic – Fair Housing & Cultural Diversity This course must be taken by all salespersons, associate brokers, and brokers. Mandatory course topic(s) must be completed through an approved LREC-certified real estate vendor prior to license renewal as part of the 12-hour continuing education requirement. Our goal for the development of the course is to elevate the learning of Louisiana real estate licensees as it pertains to fair housing law and cultural diversity and inclusion. In this course we will:
  • Lay the foundation for what we should already know about federally protected classes, as well as Louisiana State and Federal Laws pertaining to Fair Housing
  • Deeply dive into two very often misunderstood fair housing concepts – disparate impact and emotional support and service animals, and how these laws affect property management in real estate.
  • Have some fun learning about cultural diversity and bias in real estate as it pertains to truly learning to be real estate

They tried to make it interesting but it is very repetitive information from other classes.

Brent always does an excellent job making what could be boring subject matter into something interesting. This year we had another little app that was interactive and it made things much more interesting. Well done.
