ATTN: LREC Instructor Applications

Attached is my ‘Vendor Certification of Instructor Qualifications’ form and my bio for consideration and approval as a Real Estate Continuing Education Instructor in the limited area of Multi Listing Service (MLS) Rules and Procedures. As I have outlined below, I feel I meet the requirements outlined and have a unique skill set that will make me an effective Instructor for the proposed course, MLS Rules & Procedures. This class is a three-hour LREC approved class that deals with the business structure, rules and processes required by the MLS to insure the highest data quality and consumer experience.

Knowledge:

As detailed, I hold both a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Masters of Business Administration degree. I have served as the CEO/Association Executive of the REALTOR Association and the related MLS since February 2014. During this time as CEO/AE I did a complete review, edit and production of a revised version of the Rules, based on extensive research and work with the National Association of REALTORS Required Rules for REALTOR Owned MLS’s. I am the person certified by NAR to interpret and administer the MLS rules and do so on a daily basis. My certification is the RCE (Real Estate Certified Executive), the highest NAR designation possible for staff which is held by only approximately 25% of all REALTOR AE’s. I also have been certified by the Council of Multi Listing Services with the CMLX-3 Designation, the highest certification possible in the MLS industry. It is currently only held by approximately 25 people. To date less than five people have earned both at the same time.

Experience:

As detailed, I hold both the RCE (Real Estate Certified Executive), the highest NAR designation possible for staff which is held by only approximately 25% of all REALTOR AE’s. I also have been certified by the Council of Multi Listing Services with the CMLX-3 Designation, the highest certification possible in the MLS industry. It is currently only held by approximately 25 people. To date less than five people have earned both at the same time. Additionally, in this area I have been assisting current Instructors on small portions of the current three-hour class with the Certified Instructor present and leading at all times. This work, likely 6-10 hours total in 15 minute segments over the past few years, while not 25 hours has been done in a formal setting within the very class format I am applying for at this time.

Thank you for consideration. I am happy to visit further at any time.

Sincerely,

D. Scott Hughes

Our instructor was quite knowledgeable knowing all the information and the reasons why certain things are done and prohibited. It may not be the "funnest" course, our instructor made the procedure easy and painless. Very good information.

Instructor was fabulous. Cheryl Bull is always so thorough and readily available to help everyone. So glad we have her if anything comes up. I think our Board of Realtors has the most helpful bunch of people working there. They all Couldn't be more professional in helping us to get what we need. Content of course was great as well. we need all this most definitely. Thanks for providing us with the best instructors we could ever ask for.

No handout was available for the first hour or more of the workshop- We had to take notes in narrow margins of the second half's handout. The speaker rushed through a deluge of material assuming the new agents knew what she was talking about which was not the case. This workshop should be for experienced agents/brokers and the introductory workshop should be for new agents..It reminded me of a graduate course that I took in the stock market. I had hoped to learn all about how to invest but instead all the course taught me was how little I knew about calculus.

Very important topic. I wouldn't object to this being a 4-hour class. Cheryl Bull is a very knowledgeable instructor.
